This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin
This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.
Water-polo is team water-sport that combines elements of hand-ball, swimming and even rugby. It has been played in Ireland since the late 1800’s and was among the first team sports introduced into the modern Olympic games in 1900. Edd Kealy went along to a tournament at the Guinness Pool at St.Jame’s gate to find out about what can be a very physical sport. Featuring Bert O’Brien, Martin Kelligan, Cillian and Tiernan Colvin, Jack Reilly, Nicky O’Mara, Jim McConvey and Kevin O’Sullivan.
