In this the third episode of ‘What-Matters’ Near FM’s topical and current affairs program, Ger Leddin looks at the water charges issue.

The program contains interviews with Limerick Councilor John Loftus, Mary Honan and Pat O Connor of the Anti Austerity Alliance along with Elizabeth Arden Communications Director with Irish Water. The Taoiseach’s comments of the 7th of October relating to bonus payments to Irish Water staff are also discussed.

‘Minister Kelly has taken the previous Irish Water plan by the scruff of the neck and completely reworked it to ensure that water charges are fair and affordable’ Noel and Alison discuss the protests that have continued despite the revised plan and the future of the project.
