Communicating Europe

Ireland’s EU Presidency: A Political Party Perspective.

During the first half of 2013 Ireland hold the EU Presidency and to highlight this Near FM have produced a six part series where the different Irish political parties can put forward their ideas of what focus Ireland put on the role. Every country during the presidency tries to achieve something that would be remembered as something positive in the development of the European project. In this series we will ask the five parliamentary parties what this should be in their opinions. In addition we will also focus one programme on Cyprus who carried the baton in the second half of 2012, we will examine how Cyprus has dealt with the leadership of the EU, and what advice they can give Ireland as they pass the baton to us.
