Feminist Heart

Feminist Heart is a 4 part series which deals with Ireland’s contemporary history from a women’s perspective with a particular focus on woman’s voices from our own area, the Northside of Dublin.

Broadcasting Saturday March 8th (International Womens Day), 15th, 22nd and 29th at 3pm.

It will look at events that were not only historical and social milestones, but which also made a difference in the way women were perceived in society. The show will do this through interviews with some of the women who took part in the events and others who, although were not there, can document through their experience and perception, how these events impacted on their activities, expectations and social perceptions.

Produced, edited and narrated by Debbie Hutchinson for Near FM.

“Nobody in that movement was given any recognition by the State whatsoever, none!”
(Mairin De Burca, Founder Irish Women’s Liberation Movement.)

Feminist Heart is made with the assistance of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Sound & Vision fund.
