Live Coverage: St. Kevin's Boys versus Real Madrid

Near FM will be broadcasting live from 11.30am-1.30pm this Easter Saturday

Shanowen Road home of St Kevin’s Boys Club will be the venue next weekend for the SKB Academy Cup Tournament from the 18th – 20th April. This will be our 6th year to organize this event which was inaugurated in 2009 as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations. It has in that short space of time become one of the elite European tournaments for boys at Under 13 level.

This year we are delighted that such prestigious world class clubs such as Real Madrid and Ajax have accepted our invitation to take part along with current holders Celtic F C and former two time winners Arsenal F C, the line- up is completed by last year’s runners up West Bromwich Albion and St Kevin’s Boys Club.

This strong line-up of world class teams is sure to provide a great spectacle of football and it should ensure that large crowds converge on the venue over the three days of play which starts on Good Friday morning at 10.30am when the tournament gets under way with the host Club facing up to West Bromwich Albion, the second game on the Friday morning sees current holders Celtic face Ajax. The Friday afternoon games should certainly test the grounds capacity when West Bromwich Albion again are in action this time against Real Madrid and Ajax play their second game against Arsenal.

The early games on Saturday morning see Arsenal play Celtic at 10.30am and Real Madrid facing St Kevin’s Boys at 12 noon.
The semi- finals will take place on Saturday evening at 4.30 & 6.00pm and the action rounds off on Sunday with the play offs for 5th & 6th place at 10.00am and 3rd & 4th place at 12 noon and the final at 1.30pm.
The official opening will be performed by John Delaney (CEO of the FAI) Michael O’Callaghan (Chairman of St Kevin’s Boys) and Brian Hayes (Minister of State) at 10.15 on Friday April 18th.

Entrance costs €5 per visit for adults and €2 for children under 16 with entrance through the Shanowen Road gate only.
